Want to invest in high-end design? Look no further than the upcoming Operation Design online auction. The organization, which pairs designers and architects with public schools to “create motivating spaces” for students, will auction off 20 Eames Molded Plywood Lounge Chairs, each painted by a well-known street artist. The chairs were donated to the organization by Public Works department, and each one is one-of-a-kind. The bidding for each piece starts at $1,000, and the auction will run from May 11 through June 1 at OPDesign.org. If the chairs are a little too pricey for you and you happen to be in Manhattan, pop by Barneys New York between May 11 and June 1 to see the chairs on display in the store’s famous windows.
