The first couple of country music, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, are using their fame to help out country music’s de facto capital city, Nashville, Tenn. The city is struggling to recover after flooding on May 1 left much of Nashville under water.
The couple will host “Nashville Rising: A Benefit Concert for Flood Recovery” on June 22 at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena. Tim and Faith will co-host the event, and they’ve already gotten a few friends to sign on. Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift, Miranda Lambert, Miley Cyrus and more have already committed to performing.
“The damage that we've seen to people's homes and the effect that the flooding has had on their lives is unimaginable,” the couple said in a statement. “But we've seen the spirit of our community firsthand, as volunteers, church groups and our local business leaders rally to help.”
Tickets for the benefit go on sale this Friday, May 14. To learn more about the benefit and how you can help, go to NashvilleRising.org. (People)
