On Thursday Out Magazine released its “Powerful 50” list highlighting the most prominent gay and lesbian people in the U.S., and Ellen DeGeneres was #1!
“With America getting a double dose of the multi-Emmy winner via her hugely popular talk show and her new gig as American Idol judge, DeGeneres traded spots with Massachusetts congressman Barney Frank,” the publication touted.

Others who made the cut included Tim Gunn, Wanda Sykes, Perez Hilton, Neil Patrick Harris, Adam Lambert and Rachel Maddow.
