Daily Dish: Duggar Family Welcomes First Grandchild

While Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar of TLC’s 18 Kids and Counting are currently waiting for their 19th bundle of joy to be born, their son Joshua is experiencing the pleasure of looking after his very first child.

Mackynzie Renée Duggar was born at the home of her parents, Joshua and Anna, and is just as healthy and adorable as can be.

A doula and a midwife were on hand, and according to a family friend “Josh was excited to participate in the birth as well.”

Mackynzie is the first grandchild in the reality TV fam, and her name was created using a combination of Josh’s cousin’s name (Mackynzie) and Anna’s middle name (Renee). The couple, who is said to be “so happy”, has yet to decide if they will use names starting with “M” for all of their children.

Little Mackynzie’s birth will be featured on 18 Kids and Counting special First Grandduggar, broadcasting Tuesday, October 13 at 9:00 p.m. on TLC.
