Rumors of Reese and Jake first dating began when the two co-starred in the thriller movie Rendition in 2007, but they never confirmed the gossip — that is until they were spotted vacationing together in France and Morocco in the summer of 2008.

Now, a source tells BettyConfidential that after two years together, Jake, 28, was pressing Reese, 33, to tie the knot and she kept putting it off, saying her kids were not ready.

“Her kids love Jake, so he knew that was not the case,” the insider says. “He finally gave her an ultimatum saying that either they marry by Christmas or they split up.”

Reese had also been talking to her ex, Ryan, more and more, which didn’t sit well with Jake. “He knows Ryan is the father of their children and Reese has always had contact with him, but the talking just became too frequent. He feared she was seeking advice from Ryan.”
