Her middle name is Love and she was almost born on Valentine’s Day, and for what it’s worth, self-proclaimed “love-aholic” Jennifer Love Hewitt sums up what she has learned from her adventures in dating in her new book, The Day I Shot Cupid. If you have heard even a little about Jennifer’s dating track record, you may be hesitant to take advice from a woman the media has labeled a “serial-dater.” After all, she’s up front abut the fact that her cul-de-sac road to the altar has “not got past the engagement phase” --despite her admission that “once a month, since I was twelve years old, I go to my favorite jewelry store and try on my dream ring.” It’s almost fitting of her dating reputation that among those she dedicates her book to is her now-expired, but as of print-time boyfriend, Jamie Kennedy. Although this gets things off to a rough start, J. Love does have a few good recommendations to girls in the dating game, and some advice that just plain boggles the mind.

Let’s have the bad news first. Jennifer …
…recommends getting “vajazzled” after a break-up. Who knew making your vagina look like a disco ball could perk up a broken-hearted lonely soul?
…encourages girls to start using “we” even when their boyfriends still use “I.” She claims eventually the men will catch on and start using “we” too. Not so sure WE agree with this one. Men tend to like to lead the way on labeling themselves as part of a couple.
…suggests tricking your boyfriend into spooning. “Play it cool until he falls asleep, and then Velcro yourself to him, quickly and with very little motion (think Tom Cruise in Mission: Impossible),” J. Love encourages, even though she says, “guys hate to spoon.” Forcing someone to do something they are not into via acrobatics?!
