In next year’s coming-of-age drama The Runaways, Dakota Fanning and Kristen Stewart offer fans a little girl-on-girl action.

The young stars developed a solid friendship while filming this week’s highly anticipated blockbuster New Moon, which helped to ease any nervousness surrounding a lip lock.

"We're playing Joan Jett and Cherie Currie and they're best friends in the film and became really close in real life," Fanning said during an interview with Access Hollywood. "And that’s something that went down back in the '70s."

Fingers crossed that the smooch will be more comfortable than watching creepy Megan Fox make out with Amanda Seyfried in Jennifer’s Body. (Us Magazine)
