Daily Dish: Yankee WAGs Scolded for Giving Kate Hudson the Cold Shoulder

Kate Hudson wins the battle with Yankee spouses.

New York Yankee wives and girlfriends – let’s adopt the British football acronym and call them WAGs – have a special place at Yankee Stadium, where they calmly support their men from the stands.

It seems Kate Hudson didn’t get that memo. Kate’s been showing up to games to support her boyfriend, Yankee legend Alex Rodriguez, but her very vocal encouragement has been irritating some of the other WAGs, including Derek Jeter’s girlfriend, Friday Night Lights star Minka Kelly.

Minka and Derek have a maintained a low-profile relationship, despite their shared fame, and Minka doesn’t approve of Kate and A-Rod’s very public affair.

But the Yankees are known for their rules (no facial hair on the field!), and the franchise has decided to extend them to the players’ biggest fans. WAGs have been warned to lay off Kate for the sake of the men on the field, though we can’t imagine a little Mean Girls gossip would be enough to throw off the Bronx Bombers. (Page Six)
