Susan Boyle said she had learning difficulties as a child in Scotland, but that she didn’t get any sympathy from teachers for her difficulties.
“You’re looking at someone who would get the belt every day … There was discipline for the sake of discipline back then. But it’s all very different now. I think teachers are taught to understand children with learning disabilities a lot better,” Susan told the Mirror.
Teachers weren’t the only ones harassing Susan. The singing sensation said she was also bullied by other students.
“There’s nothing worse than another person having power over you by bullying you and you not knowing how to get rid of that thing.”
Luckily, Susan has managed to get the best revenge – success! Her first album, I Dreamed a Dream, is due out next week, but over 100,000 copies have already been ordered.
“This feels like a good way for making up for that – a very, very enjoyable way of making up for it as well.” (Mirror)
