Leona Lewis was just innocently signing copies of her new autobiography Dreams at London bookstore Waterstone's when a male “fan” stepped up and socked her in the face.

The X-Factor winner and “Bleeding Love” singer had to cut the signing short and be escorted to a private doctor for treatment. She has also cancelled her German tour, which was set to start today.

The man who punched her appeared to be a fan – he stood in line for five hours for a chance to meet the pop star. He handed over his book to be signed, and as Leona looked up to hand it back to him, he landed a punch on her face and allegedly screamed “I love you Leona.”

“The worst thing is that the man was grinning,” one witness said. “He thought it was funny.”

Her spokesman told the Daily Mail that she is “absolutely gutted that she did not get the signings finished.”

“She will see how she is feeling today and will decide if she’s up to working. At the moment, she’s too shaken up to think about any of that,” the spokesman continued.
