Creepy New Tiger Woods Ad
Nike aired Woods’ first television spot a day before the Masters tournament.
Nike successfully creeped everyone out with their latest commercial featuring Tiger Woods. The ad marks Woods’ return to golf and aired on ESPN and the Golf Channel one day before the Masters tournament.
In the black and white ad, Woods stares at the camera while his father, Earl Woods, speaks to him. You know, his father who died in 2006. We told you it was creepy!
His father’s voice asks Tiger questions relating to his recent cheating scandal and stint in rehab for sex addiction. “Tiger,” he says, “I am more prone to be inquisitive to promote discussion. I want to find out what your thinking was. I want to find out what your feelings are, and did you learn anything?”
Tiger stands there, trying to look as apologetic as he can with his eyes. It’s an odd move by Nike to no doubt try to fix the golf star’s image. But it has nothing to do with selling sneakers, right? If so, it may be the world’s worst TV ad to push a product… ever. (Wane.com)
