It’s a good thing Courteney Cox and husband David Arquette make regular trips to a marriage therapist, cause it might take a couple of counseling sessions to settle their latest beef.

It seems that David is pressuring Courteney to let him join the cast of her new show, Cougar Town, but she doesn’t want him around.

An on-set insider says the pair, who are both executive producers on the show, are squabbling over David becoming a series regular now that the series has been picked up for a full season.

While the pair are teaming up later this year for Scream 4 (a sequel to the film series they met on), the insider says, “Courteney doesn’t think they should work on every project together. Plus, David agreed to take care of their daughter, Coco, while Courteney tapes the show.”

Courteney recently appeared on Ellen, where she complained that David took Coco, 5, to school late and didn’t follow any of the tony private school’s rules. She also admitted that she and David (who recently celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary) need to work on their communication skills a little bit. Courteney told Ellen DeGeneres, “David said to me last night, ‘Courteney, if you’re going to talk about things all the time…’” And Courteney responded, “Dude, that’s what people do. We actually have to talk about things.”
