Some actors like to play the bad guy, but Chris Noth isn't one of them. The star, who plays a corrupt politician who ends up in jail amidst a sex scandal in the new CBS series The Good Wife, would rather be the hero than the zero. While he's best known as Carrie Bradshaw's Mr. Big, Chris' favorite role was Detective Mike Logan in Law & Order: Criminal Intent (a character he first began playing back in 1990).
A pal says Chris really missed his good guy character while filming The Good Wife with Julianna Margulies (which premieres on September 22).
"Chris did not enjoy his time on the set of The Good Wife - it was difficult for him to play such a bad guy," the insider tells Betty Confidential. "His character had no redeeming qualities at all! Sure he's a bit of cad in Sex and the City, but on Law & Order, he's basically a hero. The Good Wife was difficult because it was the opposite of every character he's ever played. He cheats on his wife and he does illegal things to the city he's supposed to be protecting. It was depressing material for Chris to work on with Julianna, so he's eager to begin filming the second Sex and the City movie and put the dark experience behind him."
Chris reports to the set of Sex and the City this week to begin shooting his scenes in the movie sequel with his friend and onscreen wife, Sarah Jessica Parker. "Chris and Sarah Jessica are like two old friends or brother and sister," the insider says. "He is really looking forward to filming the new movie and seeing what happens between Big and Carrie. Chris loves being the main guy in a cast of all women!"
