What is it with womanizers and major holidays (we’re looking at you, Tiger Woods)? Charlie Sheen and his wife Brooke Mueller just couldn’t keep it together for the holidays, and Charlie was arrested on assault charges on Christmas Day.

An unnamed source told People that Charlie and Brooke started fighting on Christmas Eve, and did not heed the old marriage advice that couples should never go to bed angry.

The source added that Charlie and Brooke were both under the influence of alcohol at the time.

“Both of them were drinking and neither was supposed to be,” the source said. “They both have histories of alcohol abuse and have made every effort to stop. But things got out of hand.”

Charlie was booked for second-degree assault and released on $8,500 bond later that day. The couple, who have 9-month-old twins named Bob and Max, plan to stay together as of now.

“Both [Charlie] and Brooke will undergo counseling and Charlie will get anger management counseling,” the source added. (People)
