Shoes may not be the most impressive (or fragrant) celebrity possession to put up for charity auction, but trust us, it’s for a good cause. Stars like Ellen DeGeneres, Elton John, Joan Rivers, and Halle Berry have donated their autographed shoes for an online auction organized by Hillsides Foster Soles in Los Angeles. Proceeds from the auction will benefit foster care children and the youth living at Hillsides.

Tonight is the Kickoff Party for the auction, which will be held in Pasadena and is open to the public through ticket sales. Dr. Drew Pinsky of Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew is the honorary chair of the event, and will be accompanied by other celeb guests like Justin Chambers of Grey’s Anatomy and Christian Perry of Dancing With the Stars. Guests of the event will be able to mingle with these celebs and enjoy cocktails and appetizers as they view the display of over 120 celebrity autographed shoes.

The online auction will close on May 20, so if you’ve ever wanted to know what it’s like to walk in Billy Joel’s shoes, then you better place your bids! (Hillsides)
