Simon Monjack, Brittany Murphy’s distraught and thoroughly exhausted hubby of three years, is sick of the gossip surrounding his wife’s untimely passing.

"These rumors that she was anorexic? It's crazy – she was slim, but that was her natural physique," he told People. “This is what's killing all of us? How did it happen? Her mum, myself and her family – we want to know why we lost our baby."

The 39-year-old says he hasn’t slept since Brittany’s mother discovered her daughter collapsed in the bathroom Sunday morning. And for those who found it suspicious that Monjack did not want an autopsy performed on his wife, the reason behind his reaction is truly heartbreaking.

"My initial reaction to the autopsy was – they're going to cut her open – I couldn't bear it," he said through tears. "That would break her mother, but we realized we needed to know. I look forward to getting the results."

Monjack added that his wife had a heart murmur, but it allegedly wasn’t serious enough to warrant treatment.

Toxicology reports from the autopsy won’t be made available for up to six weeks. (People)
