BettyConfidential EIC Myrna Blyth Named One of Min’s Social Media Superstars

NEW YORK, December 9, 2009. BettyConfidential.com (the fastest–growing women’s Web site with original content) is pleased to announce that Editor-in-Chief Myrna Blyth is among Min’s “Top 21 Social Media Superstars.”

Media veteran, acclaimed author and BettyConfidential.com Editor-in-Chief Myrna Blyth has been named one of Min’s “Top 21 Social Media Superstars” and will be honored today at the Min Top 21 Event in New York City.

Min, a media-based consumer and B2B magazine, will also honor the Top 21 Most Intriguing People in Media at the event. Blyth and the other “superstars” were chosen by the Min team and its outside advisors and are described as “those executives who have leveraged the power and influence of social media platforms for their brands or partner brands and stand as the first generation of superstars.”

“I am very pleased to be honored by Min and take it as a tribute to BettyConfidential, which is a very exciting and increasingly popular website that really talks to women about what they want to know when they want to know it,” Blyth said.

Launched in March 2008, BettyConfidential.com — your best friend…only better —is a daily source for news, views, gossip and style for women with attitude, including celebrity gossip, savvy relationship advice, up-to-the-minute beauty and fashion tips, and relevant health and diet information. Targeted to women in their 20s, 30s and 40s, “Betty” is what you need to know, when you need to know it. The site also includes provocative polls and surveys, daily updates from Gossip Betty, and the ever-snarky Mean Betty which adds to the entertaining, irreverent and informative content.

Blyth, who was at the helm of Ladies’ Home Journal as both EIC and publishing director for more than 20 years, was also the founding editor-in-chief and publishing director of More magazine, a magazine aimed specifically at women over 40, which made its debut in September 1998. After a successful launch, More retains a circulation of more than 1 million.

In addition to her editing and publishing success in the magazine industry, Blyth is also a TV commentator and an accomplished author. Blyth has written articles for numerous publications including New York and The New Yorker, and penned two novels, which were both Literary Guild alternate selections. Her first non-fiction book, Spin Sisters, chronicled the effect media has on American women and was well received in the Wall Street Journal, The New York Post and the Philadelphia Inquirer and made it to The New York Times’ non-fiction best-seller list. Blyth’s most recent book, How to Raise an American, was published in March 2007.

Besides her editorial work, Blyth has held several government appointments and was the Chairman of the President’s Commission on White House Fellows.
