There are a lot of really good websites out there, but BettyConfidential.com led the pack yesterday as we won the Media Industry Newsletter (MIN) Best of the Web Award for Editorial Excellence. It’s the first time a women’s site has been a contender—and a winner—in the editorial excellence category.

And we were up against some very tough competitors: www.concierge.com, owned by Conde Nast, www.thedailybeast.com, and www.FourSeasonsMagazine.com.

Since it began in March 2008, Betty has become one of the most influential women’s lifestyle sites, with 2.5 million unique visitors each month, readers who love to listen and take part in uniquely saucy Betty talk about sex, celebrities, style, health and family.

In giving award, MIN called the site “stylish and snappy” and praised its “witty voice and creative approach to familiar topics.” In particular, the MIN awards team singled out features like “What We Learned From the Men’s Magazines” and “Steamy Phone Sex Tips.”

And the overall tone for the site, MIN said, was unquestionably set by the popular daily piece, “Mean Betty: Snark of the Day.” (By the way, kittens, Mean Betty herself was at the awards ceremony. We even think she smiled. A little.)
