Hell’s Kitchen hotshot Gordon Ramsay has been recruited to co-produce and star in a US version of MasterChef.
The specifics are currently being worked out but what we do know is that the program will closely resemble the Australian edition, which focuses on nonprofessional chefs who compete to create picture-perfect dishes to present to a panel of three judges.
During each season participants from around the country try their best to earn spots as semi-finalists, and those who are left in the dust go toe to toe each week via team-based and individual cooking challenges until only one member remains.
"This is a huge, nationwide search for the best amateur chef in America," executive producer Howard T. Owens. “It’s about people who are lawyers, construction workers and stay-at-home moms but whose real passion is to make great food. This is their shot to prove they have what it takes."
We can’t wait for more of Ramsay’s infamous freak-outs! (The Hollywood Reporter)
