American Idol’s Top 6: Shania Twain
Gina Glocksen, American Idol’s “rocker chick” from season six and BettyConfidential's resident expert, weighs in on the good, the bad, and the downright horrible from the top six of season nine.

This week let me start of by saying WOW! $45 million dollars was raised for Idol Gives Back! I'm happy to see that people are still tuning in, even if it’s just to see Fergie or Elton John.
This week, the top 6 had the pleasure of being mentored by country music star Shania Twain! Gotta say - I'm very jealous! The contestants had so many great songs to choose from, so let's see what they did with them.
Chicago's own Lee Dewyze kicked off the night. He chose Simon Cowell’s favorite song, "Still the One." The one thing about Lee is that he always makes great song choices. It wasn't his best performance, and seemed flat more than he was on key, but I've heard worse. And he won't be going home.

Up next was Mike Lynch with "It Only Hurts (When I’m Breathing).” Such a beautiful song and his R&B twist was genius. Michael never sounds bad to my ears. His song choices may be a little off sometimes, but last night, he was right on. The way he ended the song gave me chills (and we even saw some tears in Shania's eyes). I'm just reaching when it comes to criticism for this guy and his performance, but the hand in the pocket bugged me – sorry Mike!
I'd never heard the song “Don't” that Casey James chose and after hearing him sing it, I don't think I'll ever download a version that isn't his. Let that song be known as a Casey James song from this day forward – amazing.
