6 Hot Fall Nail Trends
So many perfect nail polishes to match your fall wardrobe.
-PJ Gach

Gone are the days when your nail polishes were limited to ladylike pinks, dazzling dame reds and grandma corals. Check out Christina Applegate’s nails, they’re really dark. Now nail polish and makeup palettes take their cues from the runway. As Essie Weingarten, the founder and president of Essie explains, “This fall, designers are mixing it up, combining sheer fabric with leather along with lingerie as outer wear in deep, muted tones and bold color palettes which is very alluring.”
How can you pull off wild nails with the rest of your makeup palette? Celebrity manicurist Pippa Hebden suggests to pull off, “that warm autumn look, color coordinate your nail color…use lighter shades for day and russet colors for evening.”
As we reported to you in February, mushroom/putty shades are hot for fall. Not into taupe or greige?
Read on for the other hot and cool nail polishes to play with this fall.
Putty

It was supposed to be a hot fall color, but it was so neutral and so cool to look at, that it was worn during the summer. Rihanna’s wearing a greige-y taupe shade. Here’s a few to try on:
Cowl of the Wild by Barielle ($8, barielle.com). It’s a mushroom taupe cream.

Sew Pysched by Essie ($8, essie.com). A soft sage pewter. It won’t be available until September on the Essie site and in stores.

Earthly Harmony from MAC nail trends FW10 designed by Jin Soon ($13, maccosmetics.com). A muted taupe with copper shimmer. It hits the stores and online August 26.

I think I’m digging the fall shades!
Don’t like the idea of wearing gray nail polish.
Oh, purple! Love it!
Funny how black nail polish is now considered to be a “normal” nail polish color.
I love the inexpensive alternatives!
love purple!
I just bought Paradoxal and can’t wait to wear it!
I’ve been thinking of getting the Tokyo Express by Nars. Soo beautiful! Would loove a leather skirt that colour too, or boots!
Love ALL these… you can’t go wrong with a classy/funky/sexy nail color ANY season
I’ve been afraid to stray away from reds and pinks ever since I got a big girl job. But I just bought a purple yesterday and am loving it. (i know, not a huge stretch, but I like baby steps)
I love all these colors except the putty, come on! Who wants that color on their nails? I love the black, purple and definitely the metallics!
I have always prefered darker nail polishes over reds and pinks … love the fact that now its “in style”
LOVE the nude/beige colors for fall!!
I do love the greige, and if you’re uncertain Rimmel has one for just a couple of bucks at the drugstore!
Love it!!! Especially the gray. Gray is the ne black.
