Could Miranda Kerr Be Losing Her Victoria’s Secret Angel Wings?
Rumor has it that Victoria’s Secret has opted not to renew Miranda Kerr’s $1 million Angel contract. But are the rumors true?
Could it be? Is Miranda Kerr really losing her Victoria’s Secret Angel wings?
Rumors are swirling that Victoria’s Secret has decided not to renew Miranda’s $1 million contract. But… why? We love Miranda Kerr!
Theories abound, of course. An anonymous source told People that Miranda can apparently be a diva. “She can be difficult at shoots and appearances,” she source said. “She’s not very timely. She’s standoffish with the rest of the girls.” However, this mysterious and unnamed source continued, “If Miranda and Victoria’s Secret part ways, it’s not because of her behavior. It’s purely contractual. She’ll be coming back for the show but it’s unclear if she’ll be in future campaigns. But she is definitely one of the most popular models and in high demand.”
I don’t know, Bettys; I’m having a hard time believe this source. It’s true that most of us have never spent any time with Miranda in person, but even observing from the sidelines, I’ve never seen her be anything other than gorgeous, good at her job, and an absolute sweetheart. Meanwhile, according to Us Weekly, she’s “not a big seller” for the brand—which seems to contradict People’s source on the “popular and in high demand” front.
For their part, Victoria’s Secret released the following statement from Ed Razek, the brand’s President and Chief Marketing Officer:
“Miranda Kerr is one of the best models in the history of the business—and easily one of the most popular. She is also a consummate professional. Any rumors to the contrary are simply untrue. While her international commitments have kept her away from us more than we’d like over the past few years, she will always be an Angel to me. We have no plans to stop working with her. In fact, I’ve already invited her to walk the runway in this year’s fashion show, and, happily, she’s agreed.”
Bizarrely, though, this statement seems to dance around the issue a little bit. Although we’re comforted by the fact that they’re planning on continuing to work with Miranda, they’ve neither confirmed nor denied whether that will be in her current capacity as one of their official Angels. To be fair, Miranda does seem to work a lot outside of Victoria’s Secret, so she’s got her own brand to think about. Maybe she’s planning on moving on herself, rather than being ousted?
In any event, it’s all rumors for the time being; we’ll let you know if we hear anything official. In the meantime, tell us: True or not true? And while we’re at it, who’s your favorite Victoria’s Secret Angel?
