Jessica Chastain’s Secret Weapon for Shiny, Red Carpet-Ready Hair
Wondering how ‘Zero Dark Thirty’ star Jessica Chastain got her hair so shiny and fabulous at the Oscars? We’ve got her secret weapon right here!
Were you totally in love with Jessica Chastain’s red carpet look at the Oscars? We were—and not just because of her shimmering Armani gown! The Zero Dark Thirty star’s beauty look was just aces, too, with her crystal clear skin, bright lip, and glossy locks. The side-part and ‘40s-style waves were particularly flattering; just how does she get her hair to shine like that, anyway?
Pssst—we found the answer! The Hollywood Reporter recently chatted with Jessica’s colorist, Negrin Zand, who dished on how she gets the actress’ mane to shine as brightly it does. What’s the secret? “I used L’Oreal Dia Light in Clear for intense shine and shimmer. It just locks in the color so beautifully,” Negrin revealed. Part of L’Oreal’s line for professionals (read: don’t try this one at home!), Dia Light is a demi-permanent acid tone-on-tone color that reflects light for the ultimate luminous look. Negrin continued, “[Jessica is] a natural redhead, but I did a half-clear gloss and half-golden copper to make it a little brighter for the red carpet.” We think it’s safe to say that it worked!
Negrin’s massively long client list, by the way, also includes stars like Jennifer Aniston, Angelina Jolie, Reese Witherspoon, Cate Blanchett, and Scarlett Johansson—and we can see why! If you want to try her out for yourself, visit her at Salon Benjamin in West Hollywood, LA.
