Would You Drink Wine Made by Fergie?
Fergie has become the latest celeb to start a wine label with her new Ferguson Crest winery. Would you drink it?

It’s not unheard of for celebrities to try their hand at wine-making; in fact, it’s becoming downright common, with everyone from Drew Barrymore to Madonna having given it a shot. It shouldn’t, therefore, come as much of a surprise that Fergie has become the latest star to join their ranks. So: Would you drink wine made by the Black Eyed Peas singer?
The new Ferguson Crest wine label is actually a joint venture between Fergie and her father, Pat Ferguson. When Fergie was growing up in Hacienda Heights, California, Pat spent his working hours as a high school teacher and football coach—and his playtime hours as a gardener, filling the family’s backyard with bell peppers, blood oranges, and more. Right around the time he was gearing up for retirement, Pat moved to Solvang; and as luck would have it, a six-acre parcel of land came up for sale in 2006. Fergie made the investment in the land, and with the help of renowned winemaker Joey Tensley, Ferguson Crest has become a reality just about six years later.

The label currently offers four varieties. Fergie and her dad seem to lean towards the reds, as there’s only one white available (a Viognier); for reds, there’s a choice of a Cabernet with notes of berries, cedar, and toasted oak, a Syrah with a hint of black pepper and chocolate… and a blend called—what else?—“Fergalicious.” The Fergalicious is a blend of cabernet, sauvignon, syrah, grenache, and merlot; the resulting wine is described as having a “traditional cabernet sauvignon texture” with notes of spice and pepper from the syrah grapes, body from the grenache, and color and roundness from the merlot.
We haven’t had a chance to try them yet, but we’ll admit to being kind of curious. What about you? Would you drink wine made by Fergie?
