
Blair Underwood, Josh Duhamel and Katie Holmes were given the honor of announcing the nominees for the 2011 Golden Globes this morning. As they announced each category and its contenders, critics watching probably found themselves nodding their heads in agreement at times. But, there were some nominations that probably had them thinking, "Whaaaatttt?"
Here are the obvious nominations (aka the "Duhs") and the surprising names (the "WTFs?")
Duhs:
Movies with the most nominations are The King's Speech (7), The Fighter (6), The Social Network (6), Black Swan (4), Inception (4), The Kids Are All Right (4); all are nominees for Best Motion Picture, Drama
Natalie Portman is nominated for Best Actress In a Motion Picture, Drama, for Black Swan
James Franco is nominated for Best Actor In a Motion Picture, Drama, for 127 Hours
Boardwalk Empire and Mad Men are nominated for Best Television Series, Drama
Glee, Modern Family, and 30 Rock are nominated for Best Television Series, Comedy or Musical; Glee has the most nominations for a TV show with 5 noms

WTFs?:
The Tourist, which did poorly at the box office this past opening weekend and disappointed critics, received three nominations(!): Best Motion Picture, Comedy or Musical, Best Actress In a Motion Picture, Comedy or Musical, and Best Actor In a Motion Picture, Comedy or Musical
A "WTF?" for Justin Timberlake, he isn't nominated for Best Supporting Actor In a Motion Picture for The Social Network, but his co-star Andrew Garfield is
Jennifer Love Hewitt is nominated for Best Actress In a Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made For Television for The Client List
Um, where's Leo? As in Leonardo Dicaprio for Inception? And what about Ben Affleck for The Town? Matt Damon, Jeff Bridges, and Gwyneth Paltrow were also considerable names missing from the noms this year
