19-Year-Old Designer Wows at Paris Fashion Week
At his first show in Paris, Pedro Lourenco impresses the fashionable crowd with his new take on the latest trends.
Pedro Lourenco, 19, is the son of two well-known Brazilian fashion designers and has been designing clothes since he was 12. Last week, he debuted his Fall/Winter 2010 collection to a very impressed audience for the first time at Paris Fashion Week.
The young designer experimented with strips of leather in black, beige, and brown on long sleeve dresses, miniskirts, and knee-high boots. The fashion world, including Paris Vogue editor-in-chief Carine Roitfeld, applauded Lourenco for his experienced grasp of the latest trends despite his tender age.
“I think it was very personal, an amazingly personal vision he showed there,” Roitfeld said after seeing the show.
