10 Reasons Comic Con Was Hot
A celebrity-laden event with seemingly superhuman powers!

Once a haven where geeks and geekettes could freely debate whether Captain Kirk could kick Hans Solo’s tuchus, the annual San Diego Comic Con has in the past decade become the go-to arena for studios and stars to preview their big budget sci-fi projects. In fact this year’s show, which wrapped up Sunday, had enough star power to light up this galaxy as well as those far, far away.
1. The Avengers Photo Op.
Capitalizing on the success of this summer’s Iron Man 2, and the upcoming Thor and Captain America flicks, Marvel Comics brought out the big guns—the principal cast of the 2012 Avengers flick, which will build on the prior films.
The superhuman superhero cast includes:
Jeremy Renner: Clint Barton/Hawkeye
Mark Ruffalo: Bruce Banner/Hulk
Samuel L. Jackson: Nick Fury
Robert Downey Jr.: Tony Stark/Iron Man
Scarlett Johansson: Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow
Clark Gregg: Agent Phil Coulson
Chris Evans: Steve Rogers/Captain America
Chris Hemsworth: Thor

Look at RDJ in the first photo… he thinks he’s so cool! Seriously though, that looks like a great cast for Avengers.

Comic Con has just become a massive celeb fest.
I never really thought much about comic con, but it really looks like fun!
I’m still not convinced. It seems packed with fantasy/sci-fi obsessives.
It’s still a geek fest. A much more expensive & commercialized geek fest than it used to be, but it’s the same at the core. Thanks for including the bit on “Red.” As a Warren Ellis fan, I’m really excited about this!
