When celebrity couples like Hugh Hefner and Crystal Harris pollute popular media with news of breaking up or divorcing, marry or even dating someone WAY outside your age box can seem like an impossible and lack-luster task.  But don’t let the playboy and his former bunny discourage you from finding love with someone who’s a tiny bit older or younger than you! Take some inspiration from Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes or Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart.

1. Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones

 The attraction between Michael Douglas, 66, and Catherine Zeta-Jones, 41, was anything but fatal when they tied the knot in 2000.  Back in January, Michael announced on the Today Show he had beaten his stage four cancer after a six-month struggle with the disease.  But if that wasn’t a Desperate Housewives testament to the strength of marriage, Catherine is now battling a bipolar II disorder.  Oh! Did we mention there’s a 25-year age difference?  It’s seems kinda miniscule now, doesn’t it?

2. Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart

Han Solo hasn’t flown solo in quite awhile. Harrison Ford, 68, and Calista Flockhart, 46, have one of the biggest age differences of all the Hollywood couples.  But as cheesy and cliché a Valentine’s Day proposal sounds, there must’ve been something Calista saw in the Star Wars hero to convince her that he may be the one, but age wasn’t a deterrent: "Sometimes I even say, 'Wow, I keep forgetting that he's [22] years older than me,' Calista told People in 2003. “It doesn't factor into our relationship at all." They were married in 2010.

3. Nicolas Cage and Alice Kim

Our favorite treasure hunter Nicolas Cage, 47, has endured three marriages in his quest for love, his current wife being waitress Alice Kim Cage, who’s 27 years old.  In April however, Nicolas was arrested for domestic violence against his wife and public drunkenness in New Orleans, when during a heated argument about where their rental property was (he must’ve been schwasted!), Nic yanked Alice by her arm to show prove he was right.  Luckily for all the hopeful lovers out there, these two are still married in lieu of their two-decade age separation and domestic dispute.

4. Tina Turner and Erwin Bach

 With marriage being so over-publicized nowadays, some couples have decided to go the European route and skipped the need for an official love license.  Tina Turner, 71, has been living with German-born record company executive Erwin Bach, 54, for 10 years and even has a villa in France (lucky).  What’s more awesome is that the couple is happily living together without all the hoopla and paperwork of marriage.  Looks like their love isn’t defined but either age or wedding bands.  These two make one proud Betty!

5. Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes

When Tom Cruise, 48, and Katie Holmes, 32, aren’t spotlighted in tabloids for something harmless that’s seemingly sinister, they’re actually living a normal life with their three children.  It’s nothing new that the two have been madly in love with each other ever since Tom’s inner child hopped all over Oprah’s interview couch in 2005 when he professed his love ans or obsession with Katie.  And what could be more romantic than a proposal atop the Eiffel Tower?  It doesn’t take scientology to see age is just a number.
