10 Reasons Betty White Should Host Saturday Night Live
More than 90,000 Facebook fans are petitioning for the former Golden Girl to host SNL. You hear that, Lorne Michaels?

It’s not often that an 88-year-old woman becomes the star of the Super Bowl and Facebook all in one week. But when you’re Betty White, anything is possible.
The much-admired comedienne has induced giggles in TV audiences for more than 65 years, delivering virtuoso performances with carefully orchestrated naivete. She’s stolen the show on The Golden Girls, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Mama’s Family, Password, The Bold and the Beautiful and Boston Legal, among others – not to mention her various film roles. She’s been nominated for 18 Emmys and won six. And her hilarious rough-and-tumble turn in Sunday’s Super Bowl commercial for Snickers (with Abe Vigoda!) ranked first on USA Today’s ad meter.
But there’s one feat the funny lady still hasn’t accomplished: Betty White has never hosted Saturday Night Live.
That travesty is at the center of an explosive Facebook craze. More than 90,000 Facebookers have joined the group Betty White to Host SNL (please?)!
Well, sign us up as 90,001. Here are 10 reasons Saturday Night Live executive producer Lorne Michaels should book Betty White ASAP!
10. Betty’s pretty much hysterical.
While receiving her Lifetime Achievement Award at the SAGs last month, she ribbed vivacious presenter Sandra Bullock, asking, “Isn’t it heartening to see how far a girl as plain as she is can go?”
And she proved she isn’t afraid of SNL’s often smutty style. “I actually know many of you and I’ve worked with quite a few,” she said, adding quietly, “Maybe had a couple. And you know who you are.”
9. Betty doesn’t suck.
We’ve had to put up with January Jones, Steven Seagal, Paris Hilton, Michael Phelps and Nancy Kerrigan as sucky SNL hosts. Betty White could take all of them and their mamas. Come on, Lorne, give your fans what they’re really hungry for – a big bite of Betty!
