Betty on the News: Woman Allegedly Run Over by Father for Being "Too Westernized" Dies

After sustaining fatal injuries from her father's attack, an Arizona woman dies for allegedly being "too Westernized."

Two weeks ago, we told you about an Iraqi man in Arizona who allegedly ran over his 20-year-old daughter for becoming “too Westernized.” And now, sadly, the woman, Noor Faleh Almaleki, who moved with her father and family to the U.S. in the mid-1990s, died on Monday from fatal injuries from the attack.

Faleh Hassan Almaleki, 48, was said to be “unhappy with his daughter's style of dress and her resistance to his rules,” according to a CNN interview with a police spokesman.

Given his daughter’s death and his attempt to flee the country after the assault, authorities in Peoria, AZ are expected to change the current aggravated assault charge that’s against him to a more severe crime. (CNN)
