Is the New York Times' LinkedIn Enough?
NYTimes.com's deal with the professional networking site should allow members to choose their own news

After all these years, the verdict could be in. Is it who you know or what you know that really propels your career?
It seems that LinkedIn, the online professional network that has exploded based largely on the who-you-know theory, has come out and said, well, actually, it's both.
LinkedIn has partnered with the New York Times Online to give LinkedIn members personalized access to New York Times stories that are highly relevant to their careers. Say you work in the retail sector; the business and technology pages of the New York Times will feed you the latest retail headlines every day. You can then share and discuss those stories with members in your LinkedIn network. The idea: to keep you on top of your game (and prove to others that you are) while making and keeping strong connections in your field.
LinkedIn has said this move is meant to arm its more than 25 million members with "all the information they need to stay ahead in their careers." According to executive coach Rich Gee, tools like this are a must when you're navigating your career path.
"The first thing I tell my clients is that they need to be completely immersed in their industry to succeed," says Gee of Stamford, CT-based Rich Gee Consulting.
