Is Chest Hair Sexy?

Why your heart just might get caught in a tangle of chest hair

It was a classic, cringe-worthy "Sex and the City" episode. Charlotte's boorish boyfriend rips off his shirt to reveal - cue horror music - back hair long enough to braid! It was the "Ewwww!" heard ‘round the waxing world.

In the end, Charlotte got over her follicle fear and married hairy Harry. Looks like Mrs. Goldilocks Goldenblatt was using her noggin.

A study by psychiatrist Dr. Aikarakudy Alias shows that excessive body hair on men is linked to bonus brain power. Dr. Alias, who's been researching body hair and intelligence for more than 20 years, says that thick body hair is linked to high I.Q.

"When academic ranking amongst students was examined, the hairier men got better grades," adds Dr. Alias.

I had my own encounter of a hairy kind on a recent commercial. I'm sure you've been wondering, as I often do myself - what will L.A. Correspondent Carrie Seim do to keep herself off the mean streets of Hollywood?  Well, like so many ladies of the oldest profession (not that profession!), the answer is almost anything - as long as I'm getting paid. Most recently, I sold my soul to hawk Sin City. I played a beauty school dropout who uses a curling iron as a dangerous weapon in a spot advertising the "craziness" of Las Vegas. My co-star played a guy overly endowed in the chest-hair department, looking for a wax.

I'm not sure if it was his prosthetic shoulder hair or his hilarious charm, but I found myself hanging out in his trailer every chance I could. We even exchanged numbers (and hot, hairy pics) during the shoot.

But sadly, once the chest hair was unglued from his pecs, some of the magic was lost. I guess I'm on the hunt for a real pelt. A legit caveman to cuddle with.

After all, you know what they say about men with big chest hair...
