Samantha Ronson's keeping Lindsay on the not-so-straight and narrow

Ever since Lindsay Lohan linked up with DJ Samantha Ronson, things have been - dare I say - dull, for LiLo.

Gone are her days of cocaine busts and crotch shots. Now she's taking walks, licking ice cream, and trading fedoras with her lady lover. Pretty pedestrian stuff for the Perez princess.

Samantha's managed to turn the former "Mean Girl" into a good girl, and yank her off the crazy train. A feat Lindsay's mother, Dina, couldn't pull off. (Guess she's too busy buying little sister Ali her own ticket to Celeb Hell.)

I'll admit I first thought Lindsay and Sam's relationship was just another scream for attention. Kind of like in college when girls kiss each other at frat parties so that guys notice them. (Or was that just me?)

More and more, though, it looks like La Lohan is settling down and getting serious with Senorita Sam.

Their Sapphic smooches got me thinking. Could a lesbian love affair be the remedy for other out-of-control celebrities?

Maybe what Britney Spears really needs isn't a kick in the pants from a family court judge, but a big sloppy kiss from Madonna. (Oops, guess that one didn't work so well!)

Perhaps some preemptive intervention for tween queens Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez? Before their young hearts get broken by bad boys, let's fix them up with foxy women who can show them what real love looks like. Lindsay, up for some lesbian mentoring?

My guess is that Lindsay's relationship has little to do with gender or orientation. She's just found a soul mate who protects her and makes her happy.

It may last, or may not. But for now, it's keeping her on the straight and narrow. Or rather, the not-so-straight and narrow.
