In Her Words

Would You Give Up Your Kids Like Britney?

Britney Spears gives up custody of her boys

-Stephanie Elliot

So, there you have it. Britney's officially done it. She's given sole custody of her two sons, Preston and Jayden, to ex-hubby K-Fed.

Excuse me?

Just my motherly opinion here, but I liken this to mom fish eating their young. In fact, it's worse. Fish DON'T realize they're devouring their babies, and I don't think the babies know their moms are eating them. And it probably happens so fast, that it doesn't even hurt.

And this is all part of how nature works anyway, right? This fish-eating stuff.

But for a mom to not want her kids? Not human nature. And definitely painful.

When I read that Britney had officially forked over her kids to K-Fed, I felt a little sick about it. To me, I feel she's publicly denouncing her kids. She might as well have said, Yeah, not really into you guys right now. K-Fed, I'm busy, you take ‘em. I've got a video shoot with Madonna anyway.

Priorities are a bitch. But then again, it's Britney bitch. And she's being one.

I could maybe feel some compassion if a mother was really unfit, financially unstable, or mentally incapable of raising her children, but there's something really wrong here. Let's have some children and decide we're too busy or too famous, or just too caught up in our own life to care for our offspring. That sounds like a plan, doesn't it? Who needs responsibility anyway? Not Brit.

And the fact that Brit's baby sister Jamie Lynn, at age 17, just gave birth to her first child ... well, I can't wait to see what's going to happen there too. Will Jamie rock as a mom, and put her older sister to shame? I kind of hope so.

Will Britney feel the pangs of guilt when she sees her younger sister's motherly instincts kick in? Will she eventually long for those unexpected mommy moments when your child runs up to you and throws his arms around your neck just because you're the most wonderful person in the world? Because moms are the most wonderful people in the world. And she is so missing out.

Will Britney ever know what it's like to be loved so unconditionally that your heart hurts just to think about the possibility of losing that love?

Sadly, I'm afraid not. Because Britney's never going to be in a place where she's going to have that love.

And that's very, very sad. But Oops, she's done that to herself. Again.

And in this mom's opinion, that's pretty Toxic
