Stop and Kiss!
Cute game to help couples reconnect
-Julie Ryan Evans
Most nights after the dishes are put away and our son is in bed, my husband and I settle in for the night. While we're sitting on the same sectional, we're worlds apart - I'm glued to my laptop, working, and his fingers are stuck on the controller for a video game (research for his work in the industry, of course).
While it "works" for us, it's also nice once in a while to turn off the electronics and do something fun - and more interactive than watching a movie - together.
So I was thrilled to come across Stop and Kiss, a Card Game for Couples. The object of the game is just what we need: "Take time from your busy life to celebrate your love for one another." Note the instructions also tell you to pour yourself a drink - that's my kinda game!
Players draw cards and follow the instructions, which are mostly conversation starters: Relationship Rev-up cards suggest topics such as "a shared dream you'd like to make happen within the next five years," Memorable Moments quiz partners about first vacations and who said "I love you" first, while Complete the Thought poses starters like "Why don't we..." My favorite are the Stop and Kiss cards - no explanation necessary!
It's a fun way - and much-needed excuse - to just stop and talk about the things that unfortunately get lost in the shuffle of a busy life too often. And what a great travel game or perfect gift for a shower, wedding or anniversary!
