My wedding reception was in a beautiful loft with high ceilings and brick walls. It also came with a wedding suite, complete with a gorgeous antique bed with wrought-iron posts draped in lovely sheer white linens.

As the night progressed and the champagne flowed, we got the great idea to start taking pictures on the bed. First, me with all of my bridesmaids. Then, we called in my husband and his groomsmen. I heard a voice yell out, "one, two, three, BOUNCE," and though only one or two did, we heard a huge boom, followed by a sharp thud, as the beautiful bed - and the entire bridal party - crashed to the ground.

Someone luckily got just that moment on camera, and it made a hilarious Christmas card that year. What wasn't so hilarious was the bill that came with fixing the beautiful antique bed and cleaning up all the debris in the office below that came from the part of the ceiling that came down.

But really that was the worst of our wedding-day disasters (besides the canned beer, when I ADAMANTLY said no cans would be allowed!).

It seems, however, many aren't quite that fortunate.

This story recounts horrible wedding-day disasters, from a bride puking on her wedding dress to cake-attacking squirrels--yikes! Hopefully, these couples are able to keep a sense of humor about it and realize it's the marriage, not the wedding, that's important. But still...
