In Her Words

Are You a Wommy?

When women are both wife and mother to their husbands

By: Julie Ryan Evans

My husband has always done his own laundry, and he changes all of the bed sheets in our house. Granted, this is primarily because he finds my skills in these areas severely lacking, but still, he does it. And while he can't make much of a meal beyond toast, he's pretty good at seeking out healthy takeout when needed, and he does the dinner dishes most every night.

Apparently he could have it a whole lot easier if he had picked another breed of wife-I'll call them "wommys". The women in this article do more caretaking for their husbands than I do for my 4-year-old.

Now, there are plenty of good things that can come from showering with your husband, but getting in there JUST to wash his back?! Putting toothpaste on his toothbrush each night! Are you serious? How do you have a sexual relationship with someone whose meat you have to cut? No pun intended.

How much mothering do you do for your husband? How much is too much?bT_icon_16x16_trans.gif
